Alittle insider info, this area was unofficially given the name Centennial Hills on January 17, 2001 following a naming contest where it won with 2222 votes. Interestingly enough, other names that were suggested included Arrow Canyon (1784 votes), Tule Springs (111 votes), and Cielo de Oro chosen by Mayor Oscar Goodman (35 votes). On January 21, 2008, the Centennial Hills Hospital opened up on Durango Drive.
